I don't know how it really started. Last year, my mom and I just got into this Diamond Cross Stitching thing. Sometimes they call it Rhinestone Art. Warning! It is highly addictive. Rhinestone art is similar to cross stitching. The patterns are pretty much similar. The only difference is that Cross Stitching uses thread, Diamond stitching or rhinestone art uses beads. You attach them one by one on your pattern that has sticky glue in it, covered by a thin layer of plastic to protect the adhesive. When we start a pattern, we can't stop. The colors are vibrant. I love the way the beads sparkle when light shines on them and I love the way the beads gives the patterns some dimension. There are plenty of patterns to choose from. Here's a picture of my mom doing it. Have you tried this new hobby before?

2 of my colleagues had that sudden liking of the rhinestone hobby, that they bought a set each amounting to P250. when i see them, i ask them if they finish their project. sad to say, they gave up on it after several stitching in of the stones.

Haha. My sister's girlfriend was like that. I think her pattern is big because she spent nearly a thousand pesos for it. She started 2 years ago, she's still not finished with her pattern until now. She got busy with work.

You can give it a try during your free time. It takes time to complete a pattern, once you start, it is hard to stop.

@Anne88 I am glad you like it so much that you do not want to stop what you are doing. I have never done cross stitching.

Your work is beautiful! Unfortunately I can't do something that precise. Since I tore up the tendons and ligaments in my right hand and arm doing something that steady is next to impossible for me to even consider. I can handle designing and making teddy bears becaue the work for the most part isn't that precise and demanding. Also I can pretty much judge when I need to have a steady hand to sew the nose and mouth so I can set the bear aside until my hand is steady enough to handle the stitching. Keep up the beautiful work and post more pictures of your finished pieces. I'd love to see more!
