We all know that each country have different languages, and each country they created their own movies with their own languages, some movie from other country went viral, and everyone wants to watch it, but we need a translation of every word, that is why the subtitle was created, but do you think subtitle is better than converting it to English?

I watch Japanese movies and Anime a lot so I am accustomed to subtitles. You know what is weird? I also watch English stuff subtitled in English because I can't understand certain accents.

I prefer watching anime with the original Japanese audio and subtitles over the English dubbed versions. In college, I watched so much subtitled shows that whenever I had foreign languages in my dreams, they were subtitled! I could have used that feature years ago.

@tech40 Not really. It gets easy. I can always go back and rewatch if needed. Also, after all this time, I can disagree with the translation at times. The way the characters say things differ between translators at times, and I'll find myself saying, 'that wasn't the right translation!'

@tech40 , No problem for me! We used to have a Movie Club when we were in college where we used to screen foreign movies with subtitles to the members to watch, since that time I am habituated of these sub titles! Thanks!

Nope, the subtitle makes me miss the movie scenes. I would rather watch the movies in English. When netflix shows the movie is in another language, I skip it. But perhaps one day, when I am in the mood for relearning Spanish, and French, the movies will be good learning sessions,

@rakski It is, since the story runs fast, and you need to read the subtitle fast too

I prefer films in their original language with subtitles rather than dubbed.
