Gift or money?

In some parties, ceremonies, weddings, etc., some people give money, and some others gift things. Additionally, there are people who prefer to receive money and others who'd like material gifts instead.
Personally, I'm okay with the two. I see it as a very kind act to receive something from a loved one, whether it's cash or not. When I'm the giver, it depends; for example, if it's a kid, I may gift him/her some kind of a plaything, or ...
What about you? :)

If I am a guest for a wedding, i like to give money. I think it's usually more helpful to start their married life together. With gifts, they sometimes end up with a lot of the same things.
For kids though, it's interchangeable, I guess, depending on their age and needs.

Both are okay for me. I always give cash on these occasions.

Every time I attend children birthday party I always give gifts (clothes or toys), during an adult party I don't bring any gifts I preferred gift card or cash so that they can buy what they want instead of stressing myself to think what to bring.

Yeah, better to give cash so they can purchase what they need or like.

For birthdays I would rather get money so I can get what I want with it. For wedding I would love a gift.

It depends. There are times that I would prefer money but I consider gifts as something with more thoughts so I really appreciate it more.
