What would you do if you won the lottery?

Money- the root of all evils, the panacea for all ills...
Some folk seem to have all the luck, right?
This guy won the lottery three times, with his latest take of $1,000,000 being the second win in two months! And I'm here slugging away at a computer, trying to make a life as a writer.
I wonder what I would do if I won the lottery... probably the same thing.
What would you do if you had a lucky streak like this guy?
A Virginia man who won $1 million from the state lottery said it was his third major jackpot -- and his second in only two months.

Multiple winners are big players and they usually spend more in their lifetime than what they earned. He does not hides it, telling at the end that he "plays big tickets". I would like to know how much he plays monthly, but if he lives long enough I am sure that he will spend this million buying lottery tickets.
I do not play at any money game, although I can buy a lottery ticket for a charity times to times. I never control if I won something.

@AlisaTR Casino games are a trap, but lotteries are even worst. The state keeps 40% of what is played in lotteries and scratching tickets here, nobody can win on the long term, but gamblers are not understanding that. My father was buying a lottery ticket every week, it was not that expensive but I never managed to dissuade him to do it. He was needing to dream a bit.

That's the trick with gambling I think. You win, but usually you spend a lot more.
I got caught once at a casino when I was younger. I went in and had an early payout and I was on top of the world thinking I would be a millionaire that night! In no time at all, I blew through the money I had won and then was desperately dipping into my cash to just recover what I had even spent. Of course, I didn't. I was really depressed that night. And I knew I did not have what it took to gamble. I absolutely hate losing money.
The way I see it, there may be a few lucky gamblers... but the temptation isn't worth it to me. I think I could earn the same thing or more if I keep my head down and simply save.
However, if I am given the money from some generous soul, I am going to take it.

I have always been an avid investor, and have also been very frugal. I don't see that changing aside from perhaps affording just a few more luxuries. Most of the money would simply be invested and to the extent that I could do it, I'd just live off of the proceeds.

@AlisaTR It's not terribly difficult to be frugal, but you do have to have knack for it and be committed to it. Many people say saving means making sacrifices. In fact, it is quite the opposite. The less you save the more sacrifices you have to make.

@AlisaTR That's one thing that i am proud of my sons they know how to handle money as they have experienced bad times when we lost our family man. EVeryone in the family struggle to go on with life and live a modest life out of what we can earn.

@chavezrmc I might put some in a trust fund for my kids. Young people could be pretty irresponsible sometimes, and I would want them to value money before they could spend it.

This question comes up a lot on here. The first thing I would do is pay off this house and the second would be to get a new car..and then I would go from there!

If I won the lottery, I'd travel the U.S. and maybe even the world.
I'd also donate to charities with good reputations.

If I won the lottery I'd buy myself a one story house and travel the world. Plus, I'd go see Hamilton on Broadway, not caring about the outrageous ticket prices.
