After we lost our old tree which lived for 20 years we now have this one and it has already started yielding. The cashew apples are small but the tree is loaded. This is how they hang on the tree
Fun to see them strewn on the ground that are picked. The nuts are saved but the fruit is discarded.

@youless They give out strong smelling oil and smoke. One has to do it on open fire in the garden which is a messy affair

The process of getting the nuts ready to eat is a difficult job and so we sell raw cashew nuts.

@silvermist You must be meaning nuts with shells that are soft to the touch and the shell can be sliced and the pith (nut) removed.

@allknowing Actually they are not really raw. They have been heat processed to remove
the outer shell which is poisonous.Raw just means not roasted.Really raw ones would be poisonous and allergic.May be we should say cashews that are un-roasted.

That's pretty neat to see the actual tree for once.

@allknowing Yes of course, but in the past, When we were school going, we loved to pluck those fruits and preserve the seeds for selling. Then fruits ate by Goats, I hope they must be enjoyed the sweet taste of this fruits. Now not having that trees any more.
