The musical stylings of actor William Shatner have to be heard to be believed. His dramatic spoken word renditions of “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” and “Bohemian Rhapsody” are experiences to behold. So bad you are mesmerized. Is he being serious or tongue in cheek? One suspects the latter. Those are recordings. “Rocket Man” is a live performance when Shatner was still relatively young. The beauty of this display is Bernie Taupin introduces Shatner! With cigarette in hand, the tuxedo clad Shatner goes Rat Pack in taking “Rocket Man” boldly where Elton John never took him before.
