Do you buy generic or namebrand?

I will almost always buy generic unless there is a big sale on the name brand or there is little difference in the price. I do prefer name brand products most of the time and you know what you are getting. Sometimes if you are buying things for Ibotta or checkout51 or something buying name brand is order. Clothing, auto supplies etc. it really depends on the name brand cost relative to the other items. Are there some things you never buy generic on?

Usually I'll buy generic except for mayonnaise which has to be Hellmans and ketchup which has to be Heinz. Generally it depends on what product I'm buying because sometimes the brand is cheaper than the generic. I always go for the cheaper choice

I love Heinz ketchup! Around here Dukes is the big seller..but mayo is pretty fattening..I usually use yogurt or lower calorie whipped salad dressing.

@snowy22315 I also buy generic meds, they seem as good as the brand ones.

Like @Marilynda1225, mayo has to be hellmans. Though, for my mom and brother. As I don't eat / use it.
But almost everything we get is name brand.

@mlgen1037 Nothing wrong with that, as long as you can afford it!

Depends on what the item is, and what store I am shopping at. Many times the generics are grouse at some of the stores and I am getting really picky sometimes as I get older.

Some generics just aren't quite as effective..and sometimes they are higher in salt and so forth if you are talking about food products for instance.

I buy both. But if I buy brand name it's because I love the taste and quality and not because of the name.

Since I use coupons I buy name brand. But if I do not have coupons I will buy any brand that I know is good. Some things there is no difference but the name on the package, other things you know buy the name brand.

Yes, I will buy the namebrand if I have a reason to do so. Sometimes there isn't a huge difference in the price anyway.

If quality is similar, I will go for lower priced generic.

I don't care if my medicine is a generic brand or name brand. As long as they are proven effective, then there's nothing wrong with it.

would go for branded compared to generic, just like phones much better if you buy original phones than fake. well in medicine, if you have enough money to buy then go for the branded product, and if you don't have enough money to buy branded then you go for generic.
