New Project

Yesterday I decided to start a new puzzle project. This one is quite large - 3000 pieces, and should take a couple months to get finished. I mentioned to someone in the pool this morning I will have my new book published before this puzzle is finished.
This is the start. Sorting out the edge pieces from the rest. What I came up with for edge pieces, going through each piece carefully, doesn't add up to a puzzle the dimensions of which are 43x33. I'm going through each piece again. So far, I haven't found any more, but I only just started the process over again.
I've had this puzzle since my grandchildren were little, but never opened it until yesterday when I broke the seals on each side of the box, so I know there aren't any missing pieces. I bought it because it looked like a good challenge. It's also a good way to relax while watching television.
I'm also working on my book every day and hoping I can finish this next edit by the end of the month. I don't know if it's possible, but I'm going to try. I still have a good 200 plus pages to go on it. Working the puzzle is also a good way to take care of brain exhaustion while working on the book.
Have you started anything new recently? Tell me about it. Thanks for reading.

Actually, I found it rather easy to do. But then I was only sorting pieces. Perhaps since it looks like I missed a lot of edge pieces, it might not have been that easy. I'll post another picture when I get the edge together. I have it started, but it's going to take time to get it together as well.

Nothing new here. We have a store here locally that is just dedicated to puzzles. My daughter used to does puzzles and then she puts puzzle glue on the back and puts them up on the wall.

Sounds awesome. I used to work jigsaw puzzles quite often, but I don't have a good place to put one out now unless I put out the card table and that's not big enough for some of them. I have a jigsaw program on my computer that I use instead.
The only thing I have started "new' is doing yardwork again, trying to get my strength back up. It's taking awhile, but I can tell the difference.

@just4him I have a couple of books that I want to start reading already. Plus, one or two offline projects that could potentially bring in some extra income.
All in God's will and time...

I love working on puzzles, I should start up a new one. I did an oriental fan on my last one, glued it together and put it in a shadow box. Then when my twin grandsons were here, one pushed the other into it and broke the glass. I hope you enjoy working your puzzle, your right it will be a nice break from the book

I haven't done a puzzle in years, I should start one some day soon. My mother always had a puzzle on her card-table, during the winter months. She loved doing things, to keep her mind busy:) Have you sold many books?

@kobesbuddy Yes, it was. I just set up my Word Press website. So, now we'll see what happens. Of course I need to keep up with that one too.

I had to throw that one out. Though newly opened and never worked before, not all the pieces were there. I went through that puzzle three times looking through each piece. It was a shame too, the picture was wonderful. I looked forward to putting it together for about 20 years. I bought it first when my grandchildren were toddlers, but didn't want to open it because I didn't want the pieces lost before I could get it together. Now, I found it wouldn't have mattered. They weren't all there to begin with.

@Hannihar Yes, it was a shame. Oh well. At least the puzzle I did put together was all there, and even had an extra piece from a different puzzle. I wonder if the puzzle factory was having trouble with their puzzle machines that year as both puzzles were bought about the same time.

That is a big puzzle. Nothing new here except for finishing a larger rock I painted and thinking about trying to sell

Yes, it was, but it's now in the garbage. Even though I broke the seals on it and opened it, the manufacturer didn't have all the edge pieces for it. I got what I had together as much as possible, but it was impossible to connect it so it was a whole edge, and I went through the box twice looking for edge pieces, but there weren't any more.

I love doing puzzles but its been a while since I actually worked on one seriously!
I am working on two projects. I just submitted a project for review.. and I am working on a children's book. I don't know if it will go anywhere really, but its something I really feel compelled to do. The story has been playing in my head for a while now.
