The Week Of Has anyone watched this movie yet? it's a Netflix Original and has Adam Sandler and Chris Rock in it. If you have, don't spoil it for me, but let me know if you thought it was good. I haven't decided whether I want to watch it yet or not. I saw a blurb on the news today, something about people here in NC having sued a pig farmer because of the smell. Apparently those people "can't enjoy their homes" because of the noise and smell. I didn't watch the full segment, but I think the judge ruled in the favor of the neighbors, and I'm sitting here thinking.. Come on, you had to expect the smell when you moved into the area! Of course, not sure how long the farm has been there versus the neighbors, but still! I don't think it was right for them to sue the farmer. Ok, let's see, what else. I've begun making my own body wash. Well, I say "begun", but I just made one batch so far. I'm not too impressed with myself, but not too unimpressed either. I used Clary Sage and Vetiver together, and yes that does create a very unique scent. I used a castile soap that already had carrier oil in it, but I added a bit of almond oil. Put it in a old body wash bottle. I'll buy some PET plastic bottles eventually. Anyone else create their own soaps, household products, lotions? etc?

The poor farmer can't do much about the smell. I mean putting an air freshener around the neck of every pig isn't going to work. I heard of that Netflix movie, and want to see it, but I haven't had a chance.

I think the air freshener would be better suited around the necks of the humans, don't ya think? If you do get the chance, ;let me know what you think. I'm still of two minds as to whether I'll watch it. I am so picky with what I watch now.

Nope, I've never been able to make my own household products because I don't know how. Though I'm interested in making a dishwashing liquid and sell it eventually.

There are a lot of different recipes for that type of stuff online. For instance, I've seen one that says save your orange peels and soak them in vinegar. After a week, put the vinegar that was soaked in the orange peels in a spray bottle. It's supposed to be good at keeping ants away, and the citrus is a good disinfectant. I'm not sure if you can access youtube, but if you can look for "aromahead" on youtube, she has a lot of videos, some of which focus on cleaning products.

@rheicel I hope they are beneficial to you. You can also just search youtube for general cleaning recipes. Most people use Vinegar or lemons.

I haven't heard of the movie. I don't like to experiment with anything I think is going to create a mess.

I can understand not experimenting with things you think going to create a mess. That's one reason why I think I'll never make Cold processed soaps. That it will make a mess, or that I will make a mess with ust attempting it. The liquid soap I made was really easy to make, but honestly you can buy castille soaps with fragrances already added in and use it just like that as well.

There's a village near here which is famous for its putrid human sewerage smell, which also happens to be next to a landfill site. Poor villagers. Thankfully we just get the stink of onions in my town!

There's sewage plant near where my sister lives. My uncle used to live nearly right beside it. We can smell it when going towards the next town over, but only on occasion. I would hate to live in that village, for sure.

Do any of the neighbours enjoy pork on occasion? Where do they think their groceries come from. I've made soap, haven't done it for quite a while.

That was my question. I think the farm processes for Smithfield, and the newscast brought up that some people believe the neighbors should have went to Smithfield and not the farm. Soaping is a tedious process, I love to watch but I think beyond Melt and Pour, I just couldn't do it. I've used cold processed soap others have made and I don't like the way it feels on my skin.

You are creative you can make a business with your body wash, how does it treat the body?

It depends on the products you use. There are benefits to using coconut oil, for instance. It's a natural skin softener for one, but there are plenty f other benefits besides. Shea and cocoa butter are the same, skin softening, but I believe they help with skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis etc).
