I have written several discussions about my sister’s and nephew’s goats. As well as the pedigree Saanens, they are now starting to breed dwarf Nigerian goats. This dear little soul is the first they’ve exhibited but she managed to earn herself a championship ribbon.
She is lovely and solid although she is so small and was not a bit phased by all that was going on around her. Her name is Dandalee Park Topaz. Isn’t she adorable?

Goats are so cute, especially the dwarf breeds.

Dwarf most things are very cute although I don't like it when they try to breed animals smaller and smaller and genetic irregularities start to occur.

@arthurchappell Someone thought a kookaburra was a small bird the other day but of course when there is only one thing in a photo and nothing to judge it against it's difficult to know if a thing is small or maybe just 'far away'.

I think the ribbon was for best kid. So she would need to have good conformation - straight, strong legs and feet, her teeth should meet nicely (no undershot or overshot jaw), a nice straight back and deep through the body. I'm sure there are other criteria too but I don't know them.

I like the name Dandalee! Is it common for Australians to give their animals such long names? I was thinking about this when you were writing about horses.

That's a champion ribbon I'll have you know! She is part Nigerian but their flag is green and white. She only has a little neck so they had to wrap it round twice.
