Becoming a Retired Nomad

I'd really like to retire early, sell my house, and travel the world. Working is a drain on my happiness and there is too much of the world I want to see before I die to wait until I'm 67. I turn 55 this year and want to find a way to make this happen by age 60. Does anyone have any suggestions on ways to earn safe money while traveling abroad? Do you have recommendations of areas to visit? I've been to Ireland, Italy, Spain, various areas in Canada; and I would love to go back to those areas and find new places.

Yes the more pain in front I use to build, the easier I will have at the end of the day to get out of the corporate jobs

Have you thought about house-sitting? Maybe start near home then try to branch out further afield. Many seem to get references by word-of-mouth

I adore visiting different countries however I like to have a home base as a place to return to. I have two children aged 11 and 8 years old. I need to make sure they attend school as much as possible. I was able to travel around the world when I was 20 to 21 years old. Then when I was 29 years old between two teaching contracts I went on a trip of several months to New Zealand, French Polynesia, the Cook Islands and Samoa. I found travel prices low, especially in Eastern Europe, in 1990. Now prices are much higher than can be affordable. In my backpacker days I stayed in a dorm bed. Now with two children I need to have a triple room. I know some people earn money with Internet businesses while they travel. In the past I have let out my home and worked in Australia legally using a working holiday visa.

Not sure how you would do it as every circumstance is different. It is great though to be able to retire early and travel and do all those things you love.
