I have always heard stories of older people moving to the beach. Well I will be 50 next year. Don't you think that is old enough? I am ready for change. I want to move further south and live where I can go to the beach everyday. However, I am too tired to pack up and move again, plus all my kids still live close by, so I don't want to leave them. They are my greatest joys anyway.

I come from England and watch the programme called A Place in the Sun. I love to travel overseas to different countries. I like to have a home base close to family and friends. The sort of beaches I adore are tropical ones with green coconut palm trees. I love to see tropical flowers and pretty bushes. We have visited a lovely tropical beach in Sri Lanka however the weather got too hot for comfort. My children enjoyed it there to begin with and the train to there was scenic. We had a much cooler time at a tropical beach on Bohol Island in the Philippines. I am currently 45 years old. I will need a top type of trip for my 50th birthday.

Hey there,
I don't think it's old enough. It's never old enough to live a better life. If I can be honest with you: you have spent 50 years of your lifetime constructing your family, your past, your present and your future. Now it's time for you to enjoy it. You're still in the middle of the life, so GO FOR IT!
Go for the beach. Live somewhere you can have an active and healthy life. Somewhere you can wake up early, stroll around the beach. Take a good walk, breath a pure and fresh air.
How far will you be from your kids? Perhaps it's not far enough - you can still visit them. If it's within 5-6 hours of trip, you should do it. You can be back home every weekend. Plus, you'll create that GREAT memory when they go there to visit you: "Mom's house is awesome, we love going there every weekend!".
Regards!

It's probably better to just-visit, the same way being an uncle is preferable-to (but less rewarding-than) being a father.

You have two possible option.
One is to buy a holiday house at the beach and bring your family there for a holiday as much as possible.
Two is to get everyone to move together and stay at some lovely beach
