Unfortunately from the list of 15 World’s most polluted cities across the World the first 14 cities are from India. This is as per the WHO global air Pollution database released recently,
The national capital Delhi is sixth most polluted city in the World, while my city in NCR area is eleventh most polluted city in the World.
The diesel auto vehicles, diesel generators, construction sites, burning of wastage are considered as the main source of air pollution in the city of mine.
The city which was green jungle before a decade or so has been turned into concrete jungle today and in absence of power supply from the Government big Offices and Malls are using diesel generators which are making the life miserable here.
Luckily, we don’t have any polluted air as we are staying far away from the city and the nearest town ship and we are surrounded by natural jungles and fields.
How clean is your city or the place where you live? Do you have any problems of air pollution in your city?
What are the precautions are taken there to prevent the pollution?
Please respond! Your re4sponse will be highly appreciated! Thanks!

Yesterday we got a good rain and watching the rain my elder son told, the pollution may get reduced with this rain to some extent. Now Delhi comes in top of world as a polluted city. I don't know where he read that information. It is really shocking to know that we are living such a dangerous place. Do we really care? I don't know. It is time for us to pack up and relocate to the native.

Very nice to know about that! In fact unplanned concrete jungles coming up within a short time by cutting the natural green is also one of the main reason for air pollution along with the factors I mentioned above! Thanks @louievill !

Pune was very good few decades back and it was popular for clean environment that is the reason Talegaon had TB sanitarium to keep the TB patients there as then no treatment for TB was available. Now things have changed and Pune is also becoming polluted today! Thanks @skysnap !

We have not a big pollution problem, measures have been taken from years to prevent pollution. We had to change the heaters five years ago, the new ones must have special filters to prevent air pollution. Diesel cars will be banned soon, but in 10 years only electric cars will be allowed.

@LadyDuck , That is very true, In India Vehicles above 15 years old are banned on roads in Delhi and NCR areas so that there will be reduction in the number of Vehicles and the polluted gases from the old vehicles. This will be applicable to other states soon. People are not happy with this , but they have to obey the Government as it is being done to save the country and also the planet! Thanks!

Basically India is a densely populated country, which is progressing very fast! In that attempt we have got lot of Industrialization and the Vehicles in every city have gone up by folds with the concrete jungles! So Government is putting a restraint on Vehicles, industrial institutes and the builders to check the pollution of the air! Thanks @maezee!

@AKRao24 and we also have had a policy which did not led to rapid expansion of public transport.
Policies favored private ownership of vehicles rather than a good increase in buses, feeder buses or other public transport modes.

@AKRao24 and some good urban planners even say that too many flyovers and elevated roads lead to more preference for and usage of private transport.

This place is also polluted. With increasing population, demand for vehicles had increased drastically and hence pollution

Oh dear. I live in a small town surrounded by countryside in Minnesota. No air pollution here that I know of. If you go in the country/woods which are found further north there is a noticeable, cleaner quality.
You mention a good point, I am thankful for clean air.
I hope you are avoiding the pollution, sounds like the countryside there is beautiful

That is interesting. I live in the country so it feels quite clean. Recently a large building was built a few miles away and they constantly have a smoking chimney. However, the ironic thing is that the building is a clean energy research centre. They are the only place that seems to pollute my local area.

@AKRao24 Nothing. When the level of smog is too high, the government ban the older cars for a few days. But it is not a resolution for a long time.

My city Bangalore used to a be clean and called "Garden City" a decade back. It has worsened and you have to encounter the ever increasing traffic and pollution every day. It is now called "Garbage City".

Yes, I know Bangalore used to a beautiful city with clean air and green environment a decade back. Now because of concrete jungles and construction sites, over traffic , cutting down of greenery the pollution level has gone up drastically! Tahnks!

yes unplanned development and disregard for environmental norms and massive cutting of trees contributes to all this, and good cities turn nightmarish.

It is relatively clean thanks to the anti pollution act imposing on the factories to process their discharge to the standard.
The only times we get bad air is when there are forest fire in the neighboring countries, the volcanoes eruption from them or plantation clearances

I am happy to know that you have got strict pollution act imposed on factories, this should be made a must in all the countries of the World. Pollution because of natural calamities can't be helped! Thanks a lot @id_peace for responding and explaining the position at your end!

When I was five years old my asthma was so severe doctors told my parents I wouldn't be able to survive living in the city due to the pollution. My family moved to the mountains where the air was much cleaner a year later. Unfortunately I have had to move pretty close to a large city in order to be with my husband as he didn't want to move too far away from his family. The pollution from the surrounding factories were not kind on to my airways but we have been slowly moving further and further out towards the country.

I fully agree with you! It is duty of a common man to see how can he contribute to keep his/her environment clean ! Combined efforts by the people can make a big difference and Government will also find it easy to take it to next level to reduce the pollution! Thanks @Marvin15 !
