Noisy World....

May 4, 2018 9:51am CST
Lives are busy, chaotic. There is always noise. Even while sitting alone at home, there is often noise... Noise of the mind as our thoughts run here and there, thinking of all that we have to do, all we have done, mistakes, worries, heaviness. We need some silence in this busy life. We need stillness. Even just a little. Silence, quieting the mind, settling in to focus simply on BEING.... Challenge yourself to find a little quiet time each day. Photo credit: Mine

I enjoy my quiet time. Doesn't happen too often because my fiance loves to talk a lot

I am sure you find some quiet in your yoga practice.

This is the noisiest place I ever lived. There is no quiet time. We are near the tracks and the trains run through often. The whistles are very loud and the cars shake the house. Planes are going over pretty regularly as we are not far from a small airport. I hear dogs barking, neighbors yelling, donkeys braying, cows mooing and traffic.

Finding that quiet in your life has the power to heal the body - so I heard and I do believe.

I think learning to meditate would be a good idea for me as sometimes my mind just won't seem to stop going at a hundred miles an hour.

Sometimes I don't like the silent. At least I can hear the sound of my electric fan.

Agreed. Sometimes you just need a little peace and quiet, even on the inside.

I agree. My quiet time usually consists of some youtube videos from older music and that usually takes me to a place where I won't look at the clock and can mentally check out for a couple of hours and it lowers my stress level. Right now I'm listening to Cat's in The Cradle......its my quiet time.

I need silence. One of the reason why we moved where we live now, is the fact that there is perfect silence around us.

Around where I live now outside it is really quiet most days not even the dogs at my neighbors' bark. I keep a radio on and listen to music. I wonder how it will be when I return to the states.
