It is all about scams

Summer is on its way soon. That is when I have no job nor income. I have joined a few work at home groups. 99.95% appear to be about scams, or selling. I have been scammed in the past. I have sold things in the past. I am in fact trying to help my husband build some businesses selling stuff or offering services. One scammy thing I signed up for years in the past, because I was desperate, is e mail processing. So this is your warning. Email processing or EPS is a big scam that preys on desperate people requiring that they mislead others. It is a pyramid or a chain or some such. This pretty ad says "earn $25 for each e mail processed, straight to your paypal" You only need to copy and paste. You respond to the ad, send $25 and learn you are expected to copy and paste the same ad to your social media, so the next person will send you $25 and the next and the next. Nothing of real value is exchanged. I fell for this one, once. Sure signs of scams : payment is required, nothing of value is received, they ask for personal information, like your country, e mail, pay pal, etc. Do not be foolish like I was.

Once is all it takes. I got scammed once, lucky for me I didn't have any money to give, so it worked out in the end.

I have been taken advantage of by charity cases a time or two but I do not have large amounts ever.

I remember that from some time back. There are so many scams! There are two websites where you can find online work where they check each one to make sure it's legitimate and write reviews for them so you know what you're getting into. Some of the sites are reward sites and things like myLot but others are more like jobs, and quite a bit of customer service types, usually. The two sites are ratracerebellion.com and workathomenoscams.com

@GardenGerty I understand that; I still do a few reward sites and I have written for Textbroker but don't any more. There just wasn't enough work of the kind I wanted to do.

@peavey Mostly Textbroker is boring anymore, but it is money. I just cannot do it well when I am tired.

I will save those two websites. I have heard of the rat race one. I do write from time to time on Textbroker, and I do a few little reward sites. They do not pay well enough for me to enjoy as a single income source though.

They main red flag is that payment is required. Even if you have yet to find out what's provided I tried finding your yesterday but didn't do well. Forgot you are also garden Gertie. I think I did pretty good spelling your last name but messed it up somewhere. I will come visit another time also. What's up with Marsha 32? I see she's not been around for a very long time. I hope she's okay. I can pm you a link for surveys where you earn gift cards that are usable.

Send the links. @Marsha32 does a lot of other types of online earning that she enjoys, she is okay, she also babysits various and sundry grand kids all hours and times. She has been on some quilting trips.

@GardenGerty I am back as of last night from the bus trip. I really wish you could have come along with me. My roommate was fun and the shopping was great. Learned some different things at the museum...and spent quite a bit over what I told myself I would spend on the trip. Sewing all day today and tomorrow because Liz is off work so I have NO kids for 2 days!!

@GardenGerty good that she's doing fine. I know she was always looking for better ways to better her income. I may wait till next week to send the links since we're leaving for AZ on Thursday. And it's easier for me to copy and paste from my desktop.

I think it was when we were busy with doctors and hubby was sick and I was unsure of returning to work. It was twenty five dollars, and I regretted it almost as soon as I did it. Those EPS people are all around the internet even now.

That is good, I don't sign up for anything unless I know it is legit. I always do research before joining something. I hope you can find some online jobs to learn some income to pay bills.

The other half of paying bills is budgeting. This was listed as legit, but to me it is nothing but a scam.

I can`t do anything online. Back many years ago I did my own business off line and made a good living, landscaping. Its hard work but its also good pay. I have my own mowers, weed eaters and edger, etc. I think the hardest was making the new flower beds and placing the stones or brick type edges. Before that I babysat, I just had to get away from that type of work, the parents were the problem not the children. I once thought about opening a daycare and even looked into getting a license, but one mother stopped me from wanting that, she was a real A hole but he kid was so kind and sweet. Maybe you and hubby can open up a business together.

We bought a business recently and are working on the training. It is a legit business and since we bought an existing business we grandfathered in at a lower cost. Paid cash for it. I will go on the big training trip BECAUSE I hear better than he does.

Someone told me ages ago, don't join anything that asks for money (even if it was just a cent) or bank/paypal account details. (I will be unemployed in a month time too, don't know if I should be sad or glad. My body is not good for long hours anymore!)

Yes, they often say that if they offer a big amount of money you're going to be rich in a couple of days that would be a legit scam.

I've seen that before. The only scam free online work to be found is freelancing through agencies such as Up work where payment is guaranteed.

I have not done Up, but have done textbroker and still do occasionally, and Mturk.
