Creating Your Own Income

There are many here who work for others, and very Happy with what you are doing. Then there are many who may have retired from a job or career along with those of us who had to quit something due to Health issues. Some here I know own your Own Business, are Writers, designers, etc and work for yourself. I often wonder how many others here sell something or clean homes, etc that could make enough if it came down to having to rely on and live off that income? Many times I see the ones who are always expecting a handout and not a hand up. They are too lazy to come up with ways to earn some extra $$ to help pay for that extra bill or expense. Maybe they would rather even do a Go Fund Me instead of try and supply for themselves if they can. These often are the first ones to complain about everything, and never will take the time to Thank someone or help repay what others have given them as well. But there are so many times and ways even the smallest of ways any person could come up with ways to help earn a little extra money, and many times even support themselves if it really came down to it. There is always Writing, Selling things, doing housework or yard work for someone as in mowing lawns, house cleaning, painting, etc. Or be Creative and make things for others and sell your wares. With all the many Sales avenues locally anymore unless you really are suffering from severe Health issues, or elderly the sky is really the limit in what you can come up to earn some extra money. Have you or are you doing things to earn some extra money, and if it ever came down to it, do you think you could do enough to live solely off that income? ~~TINA~~

What I make online helps, but it's not enough for a living.

That can be an issue. That is why many who earn money online from Writing, Selling, etc usually have to have more than one source they are earning from or have other jobs, etc to help maintain a living

There are things people can do to earn extra money no matter how much income you have. Many of these things anymore just take a want and a desire to do something more. Maybe find something you enjoy and are Good at that you might be able to do to earn some extra money.

That's the problem my friend. Most people never have money to pursue their interests because they spend it all when they get it. BTW, a business is nothing more than an idea. You don't need your own money to start it. You just need to be able to sell the value of the idea to others who do have money and want to invest in it. The rich do not get rich by being rich already. They get rich by coming up with ideas, and knowing rich people who want to become richer.

It can be hard to earn money sometimes. I am not employed at the moment, but the money I earn online does help a little, although it is very little. I couldn't live off it.

Well, I am Glad I do have my eBay and Bonanza store, as well as sell things from time to time on other sites, and have myLot which is nice. But like you these I could not live off of, so have had to come up with other ways as well to survive. Learned to Create new ways to live.

@KrauseHome At least you've been able to find others ways of making an income. That's always good for sure.

I am trying to get to the point where I could live off my writing. Sadly what I make writing so far doesn't pay for a gallon of gas, but I'm working on it.

I write for a few different sites and it is a big help. I also do crafting and sell different items. I all seems to help bring in money. Between those things, social security, and my teachers pension I am doing fine.

@KrauseHome I found that I wasn't making any money if I put all my eggs in one basket. Now I get to do fun things to pick up a little money.

I have never been a believer in putting all of my eggs in one basket. It is a good principle in investing, but it is also a principle in life in general as well. Earn as much as you can, spend as little as you can, and what you don't spend put away and be wise about where you put it. That said, I have multiple streams of income and have for years. I earn from my regular job. I sell covered calls and cash secured puts in the stock market and make income from that. I also earn proceeds from stock sales, and dividends from stocks I own. I make money from rental property. I make money from blogs and writing. I make money from music I sell on iTunes and other places. For a while before they changed the parameters I made money from YouTube. I also collect aluminum cans and make money from that. Like you said in your discussion, it's a wonder some people are always wanting or needing of money, or complaining about not having it, but there are SO MANY WAYS to earn it. You just have to do it.

So True. Always makes me wonder why there are so many people out there holding Signs, or complaining they are broke when in reality everything just sits right under their finger tips. Yes not everything will make you rich, but every little bit of extra sure helps.

@KrauseHome No one ever got rich taking a handout or the easy road. And most of the time people like that are destined to never get ahead no matter how much you try to help them. How many times do we read about a guy who even wins the lottery who in a couple of years goes broke. Hand a fool a million dollars and he will spend a million dollars. Hand someone smart a million dollars and he will turn it into an empire.

Even while not here I did Swagbucks and other places but no, there is no way we could live off it. I do garden a lot and things like that so we arent spending as much on groceries but even then it is rough at times. No matter what Mr.Bill still shows up with his hand out. Now if we were allowed to live more like we want and without taxes or inspections on everything or having to have gas, water, electric (thou I still want that electric or how would I be here!) it would be easier to make a go of it. There is twists and turns to everything it seems. In short nope wouldnt be able to live off what I make on-line. The other part yes there will always be those that look for a handout and think it is owed them. Truthfully some really make me mad at times.

@KrauseHome I would have to be extremely desperate to try GoFundMe but I see people creating an account just to buy a new lounge suite. Human nature baffles me sometimes.
