I made an extra $30 dollars today

No, not on myLot, not on any site but my own yard. For most of April, I ended up having a local service mow and edge my lawn. First I was ill with that pneumonia thing, then the reaction to the antibiotic and the swollen Achilles tendon. So, I am finally fit again.
They do a nice job, but they leave the grass long enough that it needs cutting every week, which is good for them at $30 per week. Many of my neighbors employ them. But, this week I decided to earn that money myself, in effect and fired up my mower. I had to empty the back so often that it took longer than usual, but it may last longer than a week.
It was sunny this morning, but we had a nice rain shower after lunch that will be good for the grass and the flowers too.

@JamesHxstatic Take every penny you can get and run. BUT, do not spend any of it. That is the mistake so many people make. INVEST it and let the proceeds fuel the spending.

I am going to have them do it once a month to edge and mow. I will mow weekly otherwise.

The best earnings are those that come from savings. I enjoy doing yard work when I get the time. I mowed a while this evening.

I can't say that I enjoy it, but I like it better than paying someone to do it.

You are indeed $30 in pocket by doing it yourself, meanwhile it proves that you have made full recovery from your illness.

Yes, that is good on both counts I think. I am back to my ping pong games too.

My lawn is about the size of a postage stamp so it isn't really worth paying anyone to do it. If I'm unfit then my wife can usually manage it.
It's so small it actually takes longer to get the mower out and then put it back than it does to mow the lawn.

James, I am not sure I read what you went through. I am so sorry about all that you went through. Glad you could save that money yourself by doing it.

Me too. I hate paying for something that easy to do.

I understand that James. If you can do it yourself then why pay for it when you probably need the money yourself for something.

I just got done cutting the grass. I had done most of it earlier in the week, so it just needed a "trim" so to speak. Good on you..30 dollars saved is 30 dollars earned!

Yes, it is not a huge amount but over four or five weeks it amounted to quite a sum.

That is how I save money as well, I do it myself and like you said they want weekly work not bi weekly. People want more here to mow, I never got away without $40 each time or more.
