The uninvited guest!

Picture this -
The shanty chapel is filled with well dressed guests;
the rain is bucketing down and flowing in little vale’s down to the river;
every time the officiator raises his voice to emphasize the wedding vows or message - the thunder claps above the shanty chapel roof.
Everyone hears the thud of the puta confetti holders spewing all the lavender buds over the stairs . . . .
As all the guests stumble to collect umbrellas that have been provided, I step into the rain and bend down to pick up the puta confetti holder and what do I find?
A curled up, wet, scared SNAKE, just 10cm from my hand that is gathering lavender buds!
I calmly uncurl my bend, stand up straight, and step back. Snake does not stir. I step back and move the door so I can enter the chapel, holding the puta confetti holder tightly in my hand. I turn to the few guests ready to leave the chapel with umbrellas already opened and say:
“We have un unexpected guest out here”
My son looks at me and asks who?
I tell him it’s a snake. He moves past some guests and edges the door a little open to see what I can see.
Never have I seen my son jolt and move me out my path that quickly.
He turned to the guests and asked them to just wait a short while so he could secure the path of departing the chapel. Especially since his sister was going to finish signing the registrar and move out with a big puffy dress and all!
The snake was not removed but rather cornored off with all sorts of tables and things my son could get his hands on.
The puff adder, as it is called, is deadly!
Later during the dancing and fun, we showed everyone what the fuss was about . . .
The next morning I had a delayed shock reaction, which sent me into heart pulpertating anxiety mode, but eventually it passed.
I dread to think what would have happened if the snake reached out that 10cm to greet me on my daughters wedding day.
I’m glad he was too wet and cold to move!
