What makes you emotional?

I get very upset if I see animal or child cruelty. Some of the posts and videos which people put on facebook of animals being hurt and attacked by humans in the most horrible way really make the tears start to flow and I wonder how these people can do such terrible things without feeling. Sometimes I start to cry because I am happy. I cry if I witness the birth of a baby or if I am proud of a family member .. I remember becoming very emotional when I watched my son's first nativity play. Other times I will cry at a sad or happy film. Are you an emotional person? What makes you cry?

When the person I love is hurt or in pain. Or when I watch sad movies. And when heartbroken

@sprite1950 Indeed. It is really painful too. How were you able to cope with it?

I am emotional, I cry and I feel sick when I see photos of animals horribly abused by humans, In those moments I ask to myself if a God really exists, because he should not allow horrible things like those to happen.

I'm with you there. I looked at something horrible on facebook yesterday where a dog was being really hurt by its owner and yet it still looked at him pleadingly and followed him. He killed the poor thing in the end and I was so upset I went out of the house crying,

Animal cruelty and cruelty to children are certainly high up on the list. As my grandmother used to say about such people, if they can do that to an animal they are certainly capable of doing it to a child!!

I witnessed a horrible facebook post of a dog undergoing extreme cruelty yesterday and the sad thing is, it still kept going up to the person who was doing it to him, probably its owner. It was just before I had to go out and I went out of the house with wet eyes.

@sprite1950 One of the unfortunate side-effects of dogs being such loyal animals!! Our dog was 2 and 1/2 years old when we got him and we are unsure of his background. We've had him 2 years now and he still sometimes cowers away when I approach him. I've never been anything but gentle with him but he obviously still remembers ill treatment from years ago probably at the hands of a male. It breaks my heart to think that someone has put so much fear into his mind!!

@JolietJake We're actually sure of that aspect of him. He's a miniature poodle. We're just not sure where he came from and how he was treated prior to us getting him. I suspect it wasn't good. he's a crazy mixed-up dog but extremely love-able!!

I'm not really an emotional person. But there were times that I exploded when I got mad and I cried a lot.

I can’t even stand to watch the news or violent movies even when people are just acting! Sometimes in the winter when it’s really freezing cold and the wind is horrible, I lay in bed at night and think about some dumb people who leave their dogs outside in bad weather and I start crying thinking about those animals and even the wild animals that are out in the bad weather freezing.

I'm like that especially with animals. My dogs are so spoilt and I get satisfaction from seeing them sleep peacefully in their beds when the weather is freezing outside.

If there is something to which I can relate, definitely. I do not go through as many posts on fb. But yesterday dad received a forward about an old lady in some Scandinavian country who had hurt her head and lost her memory...all she could do is call the fireman who was 20 years old, and with as little information he managed to find her and take her to hospital. She could not tell her name, her building's name, her street's name, location, ..anything. But he managed to find her. That touched me. In India, we would have left it. That boy did not.

@sprite1950 Yes. That touched me. The guy must have felt intense need to save the life. He kept on thinking how to save her...and he was just 20!

I saw that on facebook! It was amazing wasn't it how he managed to trace her by asking her little questions. I think it ended with him asking all the neighbours to turn their lights off so he would know which building she was in as her light would still be on.

@sprite1950 I get very emotional when I get a petition to sign against how cruel people are to animals, when my cat has to hide because things are too much for her, when I watch a sad movie and cry and read a sad book I cry. When life is too much for me I cry.

Animals and children really upset me if I can see they have been cruelly treated. Some people really appear to be demons living on this earth amongst us.

Put it that way, I am not emotional one bit, re: crying. I avoid any news or pic which made me upset. I often cry once every several years or so I think. (I laugh very often though.) Re: any bad situations which I could change, I would jump straight in and fix it; if not, I avoid reading about them if I could.

At least we care about animals and people. Some people like to hurt those who are defenceless. It gives them a sense of power.

My Girl is one of my favourite movies and I cry every time I watch it. Anna Chlumsky who played Vada was an amazing little actress. Look at her now.
