What Kind of Milk is It?

I was just getting used to the various "milk" replacement products now available when I see something new---Oat Milk? It seems like they're making milk out of every nut and grain they can think of lately. I've tried rice milk, soya milk and almond milk in my cereal but now I see there's cashew milk and oat milk. Even though they're a great alternative to dairy if you can't have dairy- but where will it end? They may be milking this latest trend a little too much. Have you tried any of these dairy-free alternatives? One thing is they all taste great when they add chocolate to the mix. What next? Vegetable and fruit milk?? One thing for sure though- Chocolate Almond Milk is great! Pixabay free image

I've heard of all those milks but since I don't have a problem with dairy I stick to the old traditional regular 1% milk. It is amazing how they make milk out of so many different nuts etc

I've tried all of them, since I am lactose intolerant. I do best with almond milk and coconut milk. I'm currently enjoying a bowl of cereal with coconut milk.

@MarymargII The coconut milk is my favorite of all the choices. Almond milk would be my second favorite. I love the taste of coconut, so it's only natural that I like the taste of coconut milk!

@moffittjc And is it like the coconut milk you drink straight from the coconut itself?

I have tried almond milk. Not much protein in there, tasteless unless I add vanilla, some bananas and a bit of Splenda and put everything in my blender. Do not like it with cereals.

Dairy milk is the worst thing an adult can drink. My son and daughter-in-law drink coconut milk and others like those. They've been doing so before they became vegans and vegetarians.

I do have an intolerance to dairy although it is only mild... However I have been drinking soy, rice and almond milk for quite a while. What milks so you drink?

@MarymargII I don't drink any milk at all. Never liked it, and don't even eat cereal. I drink my coffee black.

@DianneN Oh I can see that as being a good thing. Cereal is the only place I love my almond milk and I do put a little dairy in my tea and coffee but that is really about it. Not big on cream either.

I do not care for cashew milk, rice milk jacks my sugar up and soy gives me gas. Almond milk please

Oat milk has been available in our country from many years, it came before soy milk for sure. I have read the labels of those milk alternatives and I have not even tried.

They have every kind of milk out there now. I think it’s because some people are allergic to dairy, are lactose intolerant, or just can’t drink regular milk. Then there is the people who are allergic to nuts, so they had to make a non animal milk that didn’t include nuts like almonds. Also to me all milk other than cow milk is disgusting. It just tastes like chalk to me. I haven’t tried oat milk yet, but I’m pretty sure it will taste just as bad.
