Is Mothers day just a day for you?

Do you celebrate Moms on Mother's day? Yours, your significant other's, your best friend's etc. Whether she is here or passed do you thank her for bringing you or someone else into this life? Or do you thank God for that or biology? I know many aren't close to their mom's. I think if I were not I would still be grateful she provided a doorway into this world. I miss mine!

There is a saying in our native languages which says that we remember those people whom have already forgotten....similarly I we don't celebrate a day to convey thanks to our mother once in a year, as we every moment of our life know what she is for us and without her we wouldn't have been in this World in first place! We have big place for parents in Indian culture and we respect and regard them in true sense without apparently expressing that we have that feeling for them! So Mother's day is nothing special for me! Thanks!

@artemis432 , that was so nice of you to have that very feeling that she was having an important role on that particular day! You are a person with big heart! Stay blessed! Thanks!

I've thought about this. Whether, like Valentines day it is just a day to make greeting card makers and flower shops fat in their bank account. That every day should be a day we honour our parents and love. I love how well you express this! Thank you.

However, when my mom was alive I didn't always remember mothers day for her but on my birthday I would send her flowers to honour her part in that day

I do celebrate (good) Moms on Mother's Day. As it's important to me, to remember all moms, whether alive or not, birth, teen, old, adoptive, foster, or mom-like.

Yes. There are so many mom's in our lives, literally and symbolically the nurturing spirit is all around us

@artemis432 Yeah. Just like for father's day, I wish all good father's a happy fathers day. it is their day, whether we should "celebrate" and be thankful for them every day or not.

I think it is overrated and commercialized. I don't need a special day to show my love for my mom. I love her day in and out. I didn't do anything special on mother's day but definitely my kids look forward to it. It is another excuse to celebrate for them. But they show their love everyday through their gestures

This made my night! Love this. I hope we all show and share the same love for them. And yes greeting card companies and flowershops get rich off of these holidays
