Can I be excused?

Dinner time is the best time to open up to the kids especially when I have been.called in school for the nth time. Not because they were bad but they were bullied around .they don't say much when you question any of them. They would protect their promise to each other . they said their code of secrecy and I respect that
But if it has been the nth time I like to know . Right?
And.on that dinner table they know me and when I start to talk after I see them almost done with dinner, right away one by one after the other would say this. Can I be excused?
In other words nada, zit, zero . I don't get the truth only half the truth from the principal .
Do you get the truth from your kids the moment you talk to them or it's only half truth from other people?

@Peach10 I'm so sorry about your kids being bullied. That's just horrible! It does make it much harder to get things right when the full story isn't coming out. I'm hoping this bullying issue has stopped as well as your kids speaking up to you more!

Slowly they are opening to me. but I still have to ask around about it from their classmates. They know I am investigating and I don't force the issue anymore but am waiting till they open up to me. They're not bad kids and I love them for protecting each other.

Children from their Class would tell me what was going on and I had to go to the School quite a few times also to sort things out.
Always thankful to their friends for telling me all.

@Peach10
They would come and find me and tell me out of School as they were close friends at School.

My daughter often tells me something about her at school. She hardly hides anything from me. I feel good about that.

happily, i was not called by the principal when my son was in elementary, high schol or college.
once i got a call and when i went to the university, the principal asked for my approval if i should allow my son to go to the capital city with 2 of his classmates for a seminar. that was the first time that my son traveled without me.

Sometimes, it takes a lot of explaining to get kids to tell the truth or to even open up.

My daughter was always a bit reluctant to share anything like that when she was a kid.
