Day 25
Matthew 11:25-30
Matthew 11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.
26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.
27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knows the Son, but the Father; neither knows any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
28 Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Have you had times in your life when things seem confusing, unclear, hidden, and you just want someone to give you the answers to the situation?
Jesus’ short prayer of thanksgiving showed that some things that are unclear to us, are clear to children.
How often do you hear your children or grandchildren say something that just leaves you staring at them for the wisdom well beyond their years they said, that you didn’t grasp until they said what they did? We then repeat it to our friends to get their reactions to our children’s wisdom. They come up with the most profound statements at times.
Psalm 8:2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou might still the enemy and the avenger.
1 Corinthians 1:26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to naught things that are:
29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
The wisdom of the ages can be wrapped up in a small nugget of truth spoken by a young child.
Jesus only asks one thing of us, to come to him, give him our burdens, and take his yoke, his strength, and let him take care of us. When we do, we will find all the problems melt away, just like when we asked our mommy to kiss our owies away when we were children. When she did, we went right back to playing. Everything was right in our world once again.
When you give Jesus all your burdens, everything will be right in your world once again. All your troubles will melt away. You only need to have the faith of a child to see those troubles disappear.
Let’s pray: Father, give me the wisdom of children. Help me give you all my troubles and cares and lean on you for your strength. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

We adults need to pay more attention to the profound things they say. I've often heard pastors say they love it when children pray for them. Have a blessed day.
