At a young age, parents should teach their children how to save.

Now ... if not before!
Whenever you have money in your hand, think about putting a small part of it aside in a savings account. If you have a regular income, it's worth setting up a direct debit or bank transfer so that a small amount automatically goes into your savings account every time you are paid. That way you won't miss what you don't see and, however small the regular deduction, you will be surprised at how quickly it can grow.

I think any time you are able to save is a good time to start. If you do not have much then it can be hard, or even impossible, to save. On the other hand, you may yet to be in a position to have thought about saving. If you have plenty of money then saving might not be something you ever considered.
I try to save any time I can. Having started a new job, the best paying one I have ever had, I am trying to save now. I have done it before but I have not always had anything to save. So, as soon as you have anything that you can put aside, that is a good time. It is certainly preferable to save when you have a lot than to think about it when it is too late, wishing you had saved at a time it was possible.

I worked for forty years and I can say I saved every year of my working life.
They are in the form of an apartment where I live now, insurance endowment policies, shares, bank deposits.
They helped me all along to have a worry-free life.
