An Inadvertent Credit Card

I knew I did this by accidentally paging through Paypal too fast and suddenly have a "line of credit" with them. This happened a few months ago but since I hadnt used it or received anything in the mail, I had completely forgotten about it. Lo and behold today I received a letter that the line of credit is changing banks and my APR is 25.49% for purchases. Uh, what?! As someone with an "excellent" credit score and credit history, a 25% APR is both appalling and insulting. I am glad they sent the mail to me as a reminder for myself to cancel it! I want no part in that. Have you ever had a Paypal credit card or credit limit? Or ever signed up for one accidentally? Oops!

I have paypal accounts but never heard about a paypal credit card. Lucky they informed you before you started spending on the card.

Its not a credit card per say since I have no card to show for it, but like a line of credit hooked up to my Paypal account if that makes sense.

Nope! I refuse credit cards! If I can't buy it outright, I do not need it! The only exception is holiday layaway! I don't mind spreading out payments without going into debt!

Thats a great idea! I usually keep them on hand in case of emergencies but seldom use them.

That is a huge amount of interest so I hope you were able to cancel it. Most credit cards in England have around 18% interest. I have never had a Pay Pal credit card.

I have a Paypal debit card and I have PayPal Credit which is a line of credit thru Paypal... If you make a purchase over $200 they give you 6 months to pay it off with no fees or interest.. this worked a great quite a few times.. If that is what you got it is not a bad thing to have.. and from what I understand Cancelling credit cards out often hurts your credit score more than just having the card/credit line and not using it.

I have not. But with an interest rate like that, they can keep it. I don't use credit at all.
