My first ever YouTube video. It would not have happened without MyLot.

I play music around the San Francisco Bay Area, but wanted to record some stuff with me playing on all instruments, including an original tune that's not "jam-friendly," due to unusual chord changes. Over time, my MyLot friend Vanny made it apparent that she, and her friend DJ, could probably make some videos happen if I send them the audio and a picture or two. The result was the video attached--my first "solo" YouTube video. Since then, we've learned to add a "slide show" of pictures to the YouTube videos we post. Incredibly, most have gotten over 1,000 views. Have you seen the first video that would not have happened without me being a member of this site--and without the help of Vanny and DJ? It's still among my favorites, even if we hadn't yet learned how to add "slide shows" to the videos.

@AKRao24 Playing music is fun. Ultimately, I like doing all the parts, so I can't blame anyone else if it sucks.

@Icydoll Oh, I will. Wanna hear something cool? This is a song by Michael Hedges, one of my "acoustic guitar idols." I can't play like him (he's really percussive), but he could do incredible things with an acoustic guitar.

Yeah, I think the first one has about 3,000, which means they can't be ALL from family.

@Hannihar Todah rabah. I have Monday off because of Shavuot. It's good timing because I have to give an exam at the college Tuesday, so I'll use Monday for paper grading and also to get the exam copied. It's mostly written, but I'll tweak it for this class.

It was the first one we did. Vanny complained that she couldn't understand my (implicitly terrible) American accent, so we went with subtitles and pictures on subsequent videos.

I listened to the Moth song. I liked it. I'm bad with guessing genres, so bare with me. But it seems to have this folksy retro feel to it. I hope that makes sense. Anyway, I'm glad you were able to find someone on here to help promote your music. That's fantastic! And I see at the moment, you have some 3,086 and 59 followers! Not bad!

My earliest influences (thank to my parents) we folk and classical. This one as written with bluegrass in mind. I've been playing American bluegrass music for abut fifteen years.
