As a child, I enjoy playing in the rain but most times my parents often stop me from playing in the rain Most children of this day never gain that opportunity. As a parent, will you allow your children to indulge in that

No, I don't allow my child to play in rain. But in North India people love to enjoy rain, as here rain is less. But we are from South and never allowed to play under rain.

But I really think it's fun for children to play in the rain when the rain is not much

I loved to play in the rain as a child. It was one of the fun things my siblings and I looked forward to whenever it rained... the chance to just run and skip outside. Something about that experience was so fun, so pure. My children have played in the rain though I admit not as much as I did when I was younger. And there are many reasons for that.

@Mikky88 well in my case it's because the neighborhood is different. Back when I was growing up, I lived in a rural community and there was a wide expanse of open yard and the other neighborhood children would be playing outside. But now we live in an apartment complex. So it would be difficult for my kids to be heading downstairs to weave in and out of cars or run through the streets to play in the rain. And there is the safety aspect as well.

I am not a parent, but I have always liked the rain (so long as there's no thunder or lightening). I never understood why people refer to overcast days with a gentle rain as "nasty weather." I always found such days to be very calming. I don't recall ever playing in the rain much, but I do enjoy rainy days.

@Mikky88 I don't think I'll ever have kids, but if I did, I'm sure I would.

ahahah welcome to mylot. I love to play in the rain. And I allow my son to play in the rain unless it rains heavy. If it is drizzling I really love it to watch and play.

@Mikky88 parents are much possessive about their kids, they feel their child may effect cold or cough or fall silk by playing in the rain. All the kids are not alike, rain or cold water may not be suitable for them.

Every child should be entitled to play in the rain at least once in their childhood

I enjoyed running around in the warm Summer rain in Chicago. I work with kids and "make" rain for them when none is available from nature (we're in California). Is that your daughter? She looks like she's enjoying the rain.

Wish I could go back being a kid so that I can play under the rain again.
