I loved to play in the rain as a child. It was one of the fun things my siblings and I looked forward to whenever it rained... the chance to just run and skip outside. Something about that experience was so fun, so pure.
My children have played in the rain though I admit not as much as I did when I was younger. And there are many reasons for that.

@Mikky88 well in my case it's because the neighborhood is different. Back when I was growing up, I lived in a rural community and there was a wide expanse of open yard and the other neighborhood children would be playing outside. But now we live in an apartment complex. So it would be difficult for my kids to be heading downstairs to weave in and out of cars or run through the streets to play in the rain. And there is the safety aspect as well.

I am not a parent, but I have always liked the rain (so long as there's no thunder or lightening). I never understood why people refer to overcast days with a gentle rain as "nasty weather." I always found such days to be very calming. I don't recall ever playing in the rain much, but I do enjoy rainy days.

@Mikky88 I don't think I'll ever have kids, but if I did, I'm sure I would.
