I feel a cold coming on

I knew I would get it. I have avoided being sick all winter and then my fiance brought home his nasty cold. I did my best to avoid it. I have even been sleeping in the spare room. The last thing I need is to get sick. I figured I would get it though because I wasn't getting any sleep with him up coughing all night so I have been getting run down. I can feel myself getting congested as the day goes on and I have been sneezing all afternoon. Since it is just starting what is something I can do to stop this cold in its tracks?

I hope it's just allergies, or a very quick cold. Feel better

Hopefully you don't get sick. It's never pleasant to get sick or anything like that. I will keep my fingers crossed.

I use Zicam, you have 48 hours after the symptoms start to take it and it cuts the cold in half, I swear by it.

If a cold is coming, you can't stop it but immediately try fending it off with liquids and rest.

Start taking medicine ASAP. I have no voice and have yellow mucus coming up and its been no fun being sick at all. Been like this for two weeks now. I guess its time for me to go get some mucinex and get this congestion out of my face. I have no cough, but taking these steroid shots up my nose with this spray i have no voice now because of it. Just want to get rid of it. I hope you dont get to sick. Im still at work though at least i have my own office and no one is around me.

I usually have orange juice and rest up. And cough drops. I personally don't like medication (it's my last resort).

Try some mint tea with a hint of lemon in it. I swear by that. Good luck, I hope that you can rid yourself of it. Drink lots and lots of water during the day at work to flush it out.......fingers crossed this helps.

I started with a sore throat and sneezing on Sunday and immediately gargled with very warm salt water throughout the day and munched on navel oranges. I was all better by Monday evening. Feel better soon!

@Happy2BeMe Mine might have been due to pollen. There is nothing worse than being sick as far as I'm concerned. Please get well asap!

Alka-Seltzer works well to relieve symptoms. But Zinc and Vitamin C will help boost your body's immune system and help fight the cold off faster. Hope you feel better!

For me change of seasons causes my cold or sinus issues. For a cold the old fashioned methods are helpful. Warm drinks like tea, gargle with salt water, rest, OTC meds for colds, nasal sprays, vitamin C, breathing steam, and chicken soup. These will make you feel better and lessen the duration and severity of the cold.

I usually just load up on Vitamin C and D. It doesn't stop it necessarily, but sometimes it never develops into a full blown cold.
