Come on in... jump in, let's chat?

The rules of convention on social media platforms like myLot are a little bit different aren't they? They really do facilitate conversations and forging friendships in a unique way that would certainly not work in real life.
Imagine it in real life for a minute: you're chatting with a friend about something personal like an ailment or a relative or an addition to your home or a loss or something... and just like that a stranger walks up and starts chatting too, commenting on your family pictures, giving you medical advice, laughing along loudly at your every joke and just like that calling you by name. You'd think they're crazy right?
And what about if they start following you around, jumping in on everything you say, or even tagging or tapping other strangers to jump in on your conversation until it's just everybody talking at the same time. Pretty scary, right?
And then, here's the icing on the cake, someone steps in with a wallet, and starts to hand out money everytime someone says anything? I know I would be looking for a way to escape out of there.
But that's how it works here on myLot. Strangers chat and we share things about ourselves and we get different perspectives... and it isn't a one hundred percent safe space (no space online ever is) but it's a pretty good space, right? And every day we log on here we get to learn something new.
But seriously though, have you ever thought about this model happening in real life? What would you do if a stranger just walked up to you and joined in on a conversation you were having?

If you put in real life perspective I think it'll be more like myLot is a cafe where you come and sit and talk with someone who already there before you or come after you. Talk about many things and suddenly the cafe owner come and tell you that they will pay you every time you sit in the cafe and have converstaion with others. But of course no menu list

It would seem a little strange wouldn't it but here we are safe and we get to know most people over a period of time. I enjoy actually meeting mylot friends whenever the opportunity arises and I also enjoy being a part of their lives in a vicarious way.

Uh oh, you've gone a put this in real world perspective. Yeah, this would never work if you're talking to a friend in Walmart and someone walked up and joined in on the conversation.
I iz a friendly sort so I would probably simply talk along with that stranger as I slowly tried to weeedle myself into a line somewhere so that I could escape this person, my friend would have walked away.

there are some instances that a thread between 2 different users not talking about the presented discussion, causes annoyance to the poster himself. although it will generate income for the users butting in, i think it is not proper to do so.
I believe this site pays its members with active participation and interaction. I agree to that a hundred percent. But what if you read a comment of somebody...

Hmmm... I think it is better left here then. Sounds creepy if it happens in real life.
