How Do You Spend Your Time At The Beach?

With Memorial Day weekend approaching many will be heading to the beaches to enjoy some fun in the sun. I'm not much of a swimmer but I do wade into the water on occasion. Nothing cools you off on those hot and humid days ahead like getting your feet wet.
I spend the rest of my beach time relaxing with a good book or magazine, with my ear buds in listening to some favorite music on the Walkman. Oh, and of course getting a suntan.
What do your enjoy doing when you venture to the beach. Do you partake in any beach type activities or are you "laid back" like me?

Noting like a refreshing swim. As a youngster and young adult I always enjoyed body surfing.

@just4him Very fun and a lot less expensive than buying a surfboard.

I'd be dancing in the waves and building sand castles.

@dgobucks226 I burn easily and I do not tan. I am also bored sitting there doing nothing.

Beach walks are always pleasant. The waves rolling in and touching your feet and toes is a nice feeling. Do you burn to easily? Or perhaps to boring to just sit?

@LadyDuck For some reason the time passes quickly for me. I get involved in the scenery or book I am reading and before you know 2 hours have passed. By then, its almost time to go...

@JohnRoberts Maybe we should both invest in metal detectors, lol.

That is interesting. It reminds me of those guys walking on the sand with those metal detectors looking for valuables. Have you ever found anything valuable or interesting on your beachcombing excursions?

Yes, I am but now something is happening in the air and it is very hard for me to sit out on my porch without coughing.

@Hannihar Sorry to hear that Hanni. Hope it is just a temporary thing. We have much pollen outside now which causes me to sneeze and cough.

I don't really like swimming in the ocean but like to walk along and get my feet wet. I like the feel of sand between my toes but when it comes to actual swimming I like a pool. Either place I like to relax and read. I've spent many a summer vacationing at the Jersey shore (Wildwood Crest)

I am familiar with Wildwood Crest. My Mom had friends we visited there. It is about 2 hours south of my home. I also enjoy dipping my feet in the ocean. Its a great place to relax for sure!

I'm not a strong swimmer and like to relax with a good book, up under a shade tree or an umbrella. I develop skin cancer, with too much sun. I love to collect stones, from the shoreline.
