I picked this book up from the library last week and started reading it after I finished the one I was already reading. I didn't want to put this book down. I love when I find books that make me want to just stop everything and keep reading. This book is about a family whose 15 year old son disappears. His disappearance causes the whole family to go through so many things and you find out secrets and lies that have gone on for a long time. The mother is the narrator of the story and you feel her emotions and the struggle to keep going to find her son and just move on with her life. There are many twists and turns throughout the book as it delves into everyone's life. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mystery and a very emotionally filled book. It does have some graphic sexual content so beware and some coarse language. But if those two things don't bother you then you will enjoy this book. If you have already read it or anything else by this author let me know. I definitely will be on the look out for her other books. Picture saved from Goodreads.

Oh I don't worry about coarse language and sexually explicit detail .. that will make it more interesting for me . Is there a film based on this book?

Well I just thought I would warn people who might not enjoy reading that sort of thing. I am glad that stuff never bothers you. It doesn't bother me either. I don't know if there was a movie based on this book or not. It would also make a good movie. There is a movie called The Missing (2003) but it is a different story line. It was a good movie though if you haven't seen it. There is also a TV show called The Missing (2014-2016) BBC One.

@morgoodie Do you get BBC in the US? I didn't realise that. We can't get Hulu here and I would really like to watch some of their movies. I think I have seen The Missing where a child goes missing and the effect it has on his family.

@sprite1950 We do get BBC and a Canada station too. I don't have Hulu and have never seen what they have on there. I do have Netflix though and I like it. I am sure there is a movie out there similar to this book. It sounds like something on Lifetime. Maybe Hulu will branch out and get to the UK.

That sounds lie a book that I would love to read. There is nothing better than a good mystery that keeps you reading. I have not read anything by the author, yet.

It was a very good mystery and there always seemed to be something happening that would throw another curve ball at you. I was surprised at the end of the book too. It didn't turn out the way I thought it would which is a nice change. I can't wait to read more of her books to see if they are all like that.
