Lycos chat was where it was at!

Back in the late 1990s when I got my first email address back in high school, I remember spending time in the computer lab after school to troll around the lycos chat rooms. Lycos itself was the search engine to use. It was more popular than yahoo and it was before google was a thing. I would lurk in the adult chat rooms even though I wasn't an adult and I would read all the naughty talk and occasionally participate in conversation. Even back then though I knew it wasn't a good idea to meet randoms from the internet. Especially the adults that would troll the teen rooms trying to hook up with kids. Still, I have fond memories of those anonymous chat rooms. AOL used to have chat rooms too. Apparently lycos still has lycos chat in the U.K. I don't know if AOL does. Lol Anyone else old enough to remember lycos chat?
