Went Grocery shopping, not going to BBQ for Memorial Day

I decided to cook indoors, I can't be in the sun right now, due to medications I am taking. I think BBQ'ing is more work. Went to Safeway, and had to use the restroom, and there is a lock box with code. I had to go ask three employees, to let me in. Another lady was waiting and really couldn't wait much longer. The first two I asked , did not come to let me in. Frustrating situation to find someone with the code combination. After I was done, I had to talk to the manager about the lock, and employees, who can not give you the code, they have to walk with you to open the door. For security reasons. People take food in the bathroom, steal and other things. The manager was a young man, very understanding, and gave me the code for next time. I wrote it down. I don't know about you , but I like a restroom to be available and open, he let me know they used to change it weekly but the code will not be changed. Other than that the lines were short , and I was able to get home, and out of the heat.

BBQ is out of question for us since it's almost 45 degree C up to 5-6 in the evening and too hot for anything out of the room. I think they should keep the restrooms open for everyone. After all a restroom is for emergency purpose which can't wait for a manager to open it for you.

@CookieMonster46 Those places must have reserved admission rights in that case!

Yes I agree, a lot of places do not have a restroom for all to use.

@suni51 I am thinking of a hamburger place they only have a restroom for the workers. Will not let anyone else use it.

We do cookouts anymore. We cant here since the new owners took over 5 years ago. Though I dont like grilled food anyways. I get why they have codes, but thats like.. annoying if you really have to go.

@Courtlynn I would rather go to one and take a dish. I am to the point, that having to do all the work for it and clean it, is to much for me.

I don't blame you for staying out of the heat. Glad the manager knows you and gave you the code.

That's strange they do that, but understandable. I'm glad you talked to the manager and got the code so you won't have that trouble next time.

Uncomfortable when we had that sort of emergency. Glad that you got someone to help out that time.
