Sometimes my little brother (10) asks "what is napkin? what is the use of it? What does the(about napkin) advertisement mean? Whenever he asks my mom just ignores his questions.
He asks questions whenever he sees a napkin or an advertisement.and aslo when we girls don't fast or pray because of mensus time.
whenever he asks I feel so awkward.and difficult to answer because he is a little one.never gave a correct answer. He started asking questions when he was 7 or 8.but somedays ago me and my sister talked a bit about it because it's natural and he somewhat understands it.
I hope it's a topic we can't avoid it if we have brothers.here mothers never talk about this with his sons. They keep this secretly.so what do you do if your sons or brothers ask about it? Do you tell about it or you just ignore him because you feel awkward or you think this is something secret which is discussed with females only.

I think we must teach the kids in a proper manner that it is the need of the nature and that is why it is needed so that he can understands the things 9n proper perspective, as tomorrow he will also be a husband to a wife and may be father to a daughter.

@NoorNoor ,That is the fact of life, and children can understand the things better than adults as they have fresh brains.

Wow, this is a good post. There is really that dilemma to let boys peek into the girls' monthly menstrual cycle. If you answer the napkin thing, for sure, he'd ask about the bleeding. Gosh. Boys actually ask more than girls. And they talk it out among their peers more than girls. Geeez.
But good you responded, or it will be a never-ending inquisition.

It has never happened to me and if I'm in your situation, I'll see whether the little one is capable of understanding ..if so, it's better to explain them ,so that they'll also know how girls are suffering at that time, and also they will help them, thereafter....
