Playing around on Other Sites

You all know I love to take photos and share them, so it should not surprise you that I might join a site that pays a few cents for photo-based writing. At first I hesitated to get active on Virily, but a lot of my old friends from Tsu, Bubblews, and Nuime are there and I find myself constantly interacting with a few of them. This month I've participated many times in a challenge called Shadows and Silhouettes. The photo I shared here was one I used in the challenge. It's a tansy plant casting its shadow on the sidewalk. Shadows fascinate me so I had a lot of fun with this challenge. I think I even finally reached my payment threshold there this month. Do you like to put shadows or silhouettes in your photos? The other site that's kept me away from here this week is Mix. It's a replacement for Stumbleupon, which will die in June. Like Stumbleupon it's a curation site, but I think it's much easier to use. So far very few of my friends are there, but I'm trying to get them to join. Mix provides a great opportunity for content creators to find a new audience for their content, and, in my opinion, it's easier to use than Stumbleupon. It's not a paying site nor are there any referral links. It's more like Pinterest in that regard. You just collect and share things you like and organize them into collections. Content creators such as bloggers or website owners who join now have a better chance of being on the ground floor and getting their content posted early so it will get more shares than content posted later. I try to share only content that really does interest me. I don't plan to join any sharing exchanges that dilute my collections. I plan to share only content I enjoy reading or that I believe is quality. Much of it is posted by my writing friends. If you enjoy writing content or collecting it, you might want to join. I like it better than just bookmarking content I might want to read or refer to again. Lots of times I can't even find things I've bookmarked. Do you like content curation and sharing sites?
