Oklahoma's Abundance of Over-Sold Mediocrity reminds Me that 'Celebrities Are People Too!'

I suffer from dumptruck-loads of jealousy---I have recovered from near-death & debilitating injury, and have nothing to show for it except a meager insurance-annuity, an status that (although it means I don't have all the "rights" most people are granted) means I don't pay income-taxes, and a lot of friends who have also suffered like me (some of whom still suffer).
But who is most-'celebrated' by popular media? Not 'we hard working survivors,' but (The Lost Ogle's agrees) https://www.thelostogle.com/2018/05/15/lets-talk-about-oklahomas-mediocre-men-problem/ painfully-painfully mediocre men! (maybe some mediocre women too, but we Oklahoma-men are too 'gentlemanly' to propose such women's existence!)
If they celebrated 'me' more, my income would probably be too high for me to qualify for the tax-free status, I might not qualify for the meager insurance-annuity I make, and--though I say I'd share the spotlight with my fellow survivor-friends--I'd probably be "too involved with my rich celebrity life" to take time to include them
That is: 'being celebrated' probably "corrupts" celebrities (making them think they deserve 'public grace' ... e.g. thinking they're allowed to take advantage of human biology to satisfy their unsavory desires)

It is hard to understand why things work the way they do. Corruption seems to be admired and what a frightening thought that is.
