Ebooks or print books?

Because technology is improving, ebooks are becoming more common. Personally I like reading physical books where I can hold it and flip the pages. What do you think?

As a reader, I prefer printed books. As a writer, publishing ebooks is a great way to earn money, as there are many readers who already prefers to read ebooks in a kindle. Ebooks are easier to sell, because they are less expensive and don't need space on shelves.

it depends on the book. I will prefer print book for subject book or book that I use to study. But I prefer ebook for novel or comic so I can read it anywhere.

I believe many schools have been making a transition to more ebooks instead of buying thick and heavy subject books. How do you feel about that transition?

@JiffyJoffy Well, I think it is positive transition. It also save money and save many trees of course. :D But the reality in my region, most of us (especially people above 25) feel readability with printed books. And of the young prefer to ebook because it is not heavy to bring anywhere.

A few years ago I was given an e book and I really liked buying e books to put on it. On my travels I could buy an e book on a particular destination and read it to help my trip. I didn't need to carry loads of paper back books around in my backpack. It was a lovely e book with a tying area at the bottom of it. I was very upset when it stopped working. I got a tablet computer and I went to my local library to learn how to use it. A helper there showed me how to download all my e books that I had bought on Amazon. I loved looking at the colour pages on it. Now I prefer to read physical books. My disabled son likes using my tablet you see.

There are definitely many advantages to having ebooks, especially the transportation part.

Yes, the e book can hold so many books to read on a trip. Also e books are cheaper than a normal book that is made from paper to buy.

I'm torn between this because I read on a regular basis, but I also am running out of room for all of the books I'm collecting. I love reading a physical book, but my house is getting smaller by the minute due to these books. Lol!

Hahaha! Books do take up a lot of space in a house and can be annoying. I have an upwards of 300 books lying around and keeping track of some of them can be hard.

Both have their good and bad aspects. You never have to recharge a physical book, they have a nice scent and its nice to feel the weight of them in your hand... but ebooks are nicely portable and space saving, environmentally friendlier, less expensive and you do not need to turn on any extra lights to read them, something my husband appreciates when I am trying to read and he is trying to sleep. I used to hate ebooks myself, to be honest and couldn't understand why anyone would want to read them over an actual physical book, but then I started having trouble with my eyesight and my books were starting to give me a headache as I struggled to read them. I had to resort to them because I could resize the text to something readable.

@JiffyJoffy I still have a lot of physical books and turn to them sometimes (I have glasses now), but I have read books in both formats at the same time when I had both physical and ebook editions. All in all, I am still reading the same thing regardless of format it is in. Much of the experience and enjoyment for me comes from the content itself rather than how that content is presented to me.

Do you miss not having a physical book to read or does a kindle still provide the same experience?

I like ebooks better because you can do a search, save notes, and the bookmark will never fall out.

I tried to switch to e-books but all in vain. I like physical books over e-books for the reason unknown
