How hard can it be

Last time we went shopping I got a great deal on an angel food cake.
I have frozen fruit to thaw.
Whipped cream for on top--got that too!
I do not buy the "non dairy whipped topping" any more. I do not know what is really in it besides sugar and vegetable oil and "stabilizers".
I try to keep some heavy cream on hand for cooking, etc. I have a beautiful bowl of whipped cream that took less than five minutes to prepare.
I just say to myself, "how hard can it be to take a little mixer and whip up some cream with vanilla and powdered sugar?" and the answer is not too hard at all.
You just have to remember to stop before you make butter.

It is a real hazard of overwhipping cream. I read it on the internet. LoL.

I don't know that we don't do things so much because we consider it hard but maybe more because it can be time consuming. I'd like to get back into making smoothies but it can be time consuming especially the cleanup when I'm done. I've purchased the ingredients to use but haven't done any for two months now.
I am considering buying a nutri bullet which may fit more easily on my countertop.

Technically what I make probably is not a "smoothie" as it is frozen fruit and protein powder blended into homemade yogurt. I use a stick blender and make mine in wide mouthed quart jars. When I make the homemade yogurt I put it into the jars at half full. When I am ready I just add the frozen fruit or greens or both on top and pop that stick blender in. I pour our smoothies into glasses and all I have left to clean is the jar and the attachment for the blender.

Hi Marsha, I have the Ninja IQ with "extraction" mode and I make a week's supply of smoothies and put them in the freezer so I only have to clean up once. I like the Ninja better than the Bullet because it is a Duo that has a bowl and an automatic fusion setting for chopping and grinding. Footprint is slightly bigger, but with the herb/flour attachment it takes the place of 3 appliances.

I always used granulated sugar for the sweetener until my son told me to use confectioner's sugar. Now I will only make it using this method.
It isn't had at all. Some often over whip it and do make it too stiff and it is nearly butter!

I bought an iced coffee drink once that had almost buttery whipped cream on top. I do like mine softer. @Dr.Ann says she uses maple syrup, and I imagine that is quite good as well.

In the dairy section of the grocery store. Here it is labeled Heavy Whipping Cream. It is a bit costly, but soooooo good. There is also half and half. I do not know if it would whip up the same. People use that in their coffee.

That would be delicious. I know there are so many ways to make it the way you like it when you make your own.

I remember the little bit of cream at the top of milk bottle when I was a child. I would pour it out and whip it up. Yum! A little vanilla and some sugar and I was in heaven.

Yes, vanilla and I use powdered sugar. I read that online and it works well for me.

I have an "immersion blender" or stick blender that has a whisk attachment. Same thing. Actually that advice came from a site that was saying to shake the cream in a jar.
