What did you want to become in your life?

I wanted to be a teacher in my life as I like teaching kids but my parents wanted me to be an engineer as I was a bright student. So I became an engineer. But somewhere in my mind I always think that if I had been a teacher I would have enjoyed life more than what I am doing now at present. What about you? I wanted to become an architect and interior decorator, but my parents thought it was not something for a "girl". So I studied languages.

I always planned on being a teacher. That was always what I thought I would do. I ended up being on disability, but it was a nice dream. My sister turned out to be a teacher, and my mom was a professor.

My friend's husband trained as an engineer but was later able to do a short course and ended up teaching engineering in a technical college. Perhaps you could do the same or have you already retired?
