Yesterday I Really Overdid It

Yesterday I went over to my parents' house to celebrate my sister's birthday. The swelling in my ankle was finally gone, and I had gone the last couple days without using a crutch at all. So, I decided I would venture out without my walking boot, and just wear a regular tennis shoe. Maybe that was a mistake, because we ended up running around all afternoon and by the time I got home in the evening, I was hurting again.
My ankle is swollen pretty bad all over again. I know that the fracture is healed and that it's okay to walk on it as much as I can tolerate. I've been doing range of motion and roll a tennis ball under the arch of my foot to help loosen my foot up (which my mom suggested -- she works in a nursing facility and that's one of the things she has residents do when she does range of motion with them.) I still limp pretty bad, but I thought I should be able to handle a day without my crutch or my walking boot. Now I'm paying for it. I know I shouldn't rush things because it can result in a setback, but I am so tired of being basically housebound. It's frustrating not being able to just get up and WALK.

ouch. so sorry it ended up swollen again.
my bfs foot was getting better, and his dr said he didn't need his boot much anymore, if at all if he didn't want to use it, and gave him a brace wrap thing.. but then he did one day of physical therapy and his foot was swollen and hurt all over again. so his dr told him not to do the PT anymore. so no idea whats going to happen now, his next appointment is this next week i think.

That seems weird that he told him to quit doing PT. How is he supposed to strengthen it? I never did hear anything about PT for my ankle...and now I don't think I need it. I still limp some but not as bad as before. I hope the limp will eventually just fade away.
I hope your boyfriend's foot improves and he feels better soon.

@Srbageldog his brace is supposed to help, but no idea how else. But pt didnt do any good for my moms wrists when she hurt them years ago. So not uncommon for people to not do pt i dont think
