“Angel” was one of the last singles released by the duo prior to their first breakup. Written by Dave Stewart and Annie Lennox, “Angel” appears on the album “We Too Are One.” Lennox stated the song was inspired by the death of an aunt and about suicide.
“Well she’s gone to meet her maker
Back to where she came from
Come to save her soul”
The song bluntly states twice “she took her life” and refers to 57 winters taking a toll. “Angel” charted at UK #23 but uncharted in the US no doubt to the song’s slow and somber nature. This is not typical lively Eurythmics synthpop rock. “Angel” is more akin to Lennox’s solo work.

I loved the Eurythmics - Lennox has one of the greatest voices in music history

That was kind of a haunting song in a minor key.

Damn all I got was devils, must be doing it wrong again. Probably only pop rock band I respect more than most because just sounds different, I always say watered down it does not sound watered down for family purposes I guess is what I mean.
