Oh, will you look at that! We have pancit for lunch! (Pancit is a noodle type of food.) I should have expected it because... (I'll tell you a little secret... it's my birthday today.)
I don't know where the idea originated but I've always been told that long foods on your birthday means long life. That's why it's normal to serve spaghetti or pancit during birthdays. Is there a similar belief or practice in your area or culture?

I love all kinds of pancit! I think I love my mom's pancit bison the best, especially if it is paired with lumpiang shanghai. It's been a while since I had some, and this post reminds me that I should probably take a trip to an Asian store soon and stock up on some ingredients.

Not really no but it does sound very good what you were eating.
Happy Birthday by the way.

I like most foods that have noodles in them as well.
Here its what you would call Fidua a noodle kind of dish as well and its very good made in quite a few ways.

@lovinangelsinstead21 Nice! I looked at a few pictures and although they don't all look the same, in some pictures, it looks like paella but with noodles instead of rice. Looks yummy.

No..we don't have this culture here but we have one culture i.e. One shouldn't cut his/her hair in birth month. If he/she does then life will be destroyed.
