Good Morning

I've been having some issues I need to work through the last few days. Most of it has to do with you. I know I'm not perfect, but what you see is what you get. However, in some of you I am friends with also on FB, I'm seeing a whole different picture of who you are. So, I'm wondering, are you really the people who bad mouth and use vulgar language you can't use on myLot, or are you putting on a good face for myLot? Some of the statuses I see there have really surprised me, and I don't know how to handle it. Now, I know it isn't everyone I am friends with, only a few. I really thought after blogging with you for a couple years, I knew the people I blogged with. Apparently not. If this post offends you, I'm sorry. You know how much your statuses alarmed me. It makes me wonder what kind of people are here. It also has me thinking of quitting myLot. If I do, I will also be unfriending some of my FB friends. Not all. There are some of you who are no different between here and there. I know you can say what you want here, minus the vulgarity, and you can say whatever you want on FB. However, that doesn't mean I need to read it. I have that right as well. Thanks for reading.

I have no friends from here on FB so it must be upsetting to see a different side of people than as you know them here. I would hate to see you leave here because of some people who act differently on FB

I agree with you, we are not required to communicate with anyone we don't want to. I have never been offended by anyone here. Most everyone seems friendly.

I only know people as I see them here on myLot as I do not go to their Facebook pages. I know people in real life that do not swear around me but swear. Of course you are free to do as you wish.

'I've had toremove some people from Facebook over the years. I never find it easy. But we don't go to Facebook to get upset, so do what you need to do, Valerie. It is disappointing when you think you know someone and really didn't.

I usually only play a game there, but I browse through the statuses to see what my family and friends are up to. It's the only way I communicate with my family most of the time.

@just4him My family and friends are there. That is the main reason that I stay. Nobody lives in the old neighborhood anymore, they are spread out everywhere.

@just4him - I can understand why that would bother you. I have to say that I never friend someone on Facebook unless I know them personally. I also want you to know that you can remain friends with someone on Facebook, but not "follow" them. When you stop following them, you can go to their home page whenever you want to see what has been going on with them, but their posts will not automatically show up on your feed, which could bring you more peace-of-mind. In addition, when you post something, you can choose that "only friends, except for ... (enter names)" will be allowed to see it. I do both of these things. There are relatives who post hateful, prejudiced political posts, so I do not follow them. However, I want to stay in touch in case I want to wish them Happy Birthday or leave a comment if they get sick. There are also relatives whom I do not allow to see most of my posts, because I don't like some of the things they say when they comment. In this way, I can enjoy Facebook, and have fewer unpleasant experiences.

@just4him - Thanks for writing your post. It inspired me to enhance my comment a little and turn it into a post. I think a lot of people would enjoy Facebook more if they knew how much control they have over what they see, and what others see!

You are probably talking about me,I do share naught stuff passed on by old friends. I do cuss but I am trying to stop, I do recall cussing much on face though, that has been a goal for a while I am even working on it. If I have offended you I did not mean to and if you unfriend me, I will live. But do not allow anyone, not even me to run you off from mylot. There is no way that you can know anyone online unless you meet them in person, Its easy to hide behind a screen at home and either act like a saint, or a bad person, then meet them in erson and they are the opposite. When I read this post I feel your anger and something comes to me from the bible, Jesus said "Let the one(s) without sin cast the first stone." I really wished you would have just had the courage to inbox the person that has offended you.Prayed for them, maybe. God seeks not the perfect followers but those who need guidance. If it was me that offended you I am deeply sorry and I still love ya anyways.

@mom210 It took a while for the leg to heal, and now it's hurting again in a different way, and I didn't do anything to cause the pain. At least not that I'm aware of. I'm praying it gets better soon. I would really like to discard the cane.

It wasn't you. It wasn't just one, but several. I agree with what you said, and I am working it out. No, I'm not leaving. I've decided to stay. Writing this post helped me get it off my chest and work through it. I am far from perfect, and I can spew some words, and did the last time I fell at my son's. I hadn't spewed those words in years, yet they were the first out of my mouth when I fell.

@just4him I keep up with my older boys on FB as well. It can be a pain but it is also convenient. Just unfriend the person/people who you are having second thoughts about. Sometimes I see a few of my friends acting out of sorts but I just toss it up to that they might be going through a difficult time in their lives and handling it differently than what we might expect of them.

@just4him Oh yes, I love My Lot, but have been dividing my time up, with off-line things. Reading, bike riding, going to the library, sitting in the park, taking a walk, visiting friends. I've neglected to do most of these things, for almost a year!

I'm sorry! I know we aren't Facebook friends. I also have a potty mouth when mad. :( Growing up, it really wasn't frowned on. It was only when I had my first kid did I ever think about how my words could be important in what she hears. So it was an effort to change how I speak in person! Then after she learnt to really read did I ever put words in print as something that is also important! I'm a work in progress! I know I'm doing better now than what I was like before! I hope to be even better in the future. I hope that god understand we aren't perfect: but we can grow and change to be better people to spread his love and kindness.
