Good morning to all. I woke up early and now i am heating water for our thermos. The dogs that were brought out of the house by my son at 4am are sleeping at the veranda, occasionally barking when they sense some persons passing by.
It is June 12. I then recall. 9 years ago:
My mother was vomiting and complaining of severe headache. I recall how she requested me to prepare her a cup of hot coffee and add some rice in it for her breakfast. I recall how i offered her with spoonful of her ‘breakfast’.
I recall that due to her continuous projectile vomiting, I told her I will bring her to the hospital. When she opened her eyes while complaining of severe headache, I noticed her right eye deviated upward and her left eye looking straight at me. (This was how my son described my eyes when I had the attack last 2016.)
I recall I drove her to the car with my son to the Emergency Room of the hospital. I cannot forget how the doctor diagnosed my mother with ‘acute gastroenteritis’ without physically examining her. As a nurse, I know the manifestations of a stroke but I was always going to the pharmacy to get the medicines for her.
I recall myself staying with her in the hospital and observing her talking with the ‘gift of tongue’.
Yes! June 12, the Independence day of my country, will always be remembered by my family. We are happy though because she and our father are together again, up there in heaven.

Good afternoon po, Ingrid. I am sorry. Thank you for sharing it to us. While many of us here just remember this day as our Independence day, a few has special events attached to it.

yes, hija. my mother did not want to go to the hospital because "it is Friday", she said, and Friday is not considered a good day. she wanted to postpone it the next day. i insisted to bring her to the hospital.

We can always remember the people we love, although the people we love are gone.

the doctor was exhausted that time, i think ER doctors go straight on duty for 36 hours. she asked my mother what she felt, and i answered because my mother kept her eyes close and i knew how she felt. the vomiting and loose motions i told the doctor was her clue what diagnosis my mother had, according to her.
