Hi everyone I hope that you are well. I have not been around for a little while due to work a holiday and work again but for the past week I have been forced to stay home as I have damaged a muscle in my leg and can hardly walk so I am at home recuperating. Two nights ago as I was climbing the stairs I felt it snap again and I am in more pain now than I was originally so I guess I will just have to take it easy until it heals itself properly.
Anyway that's by the by I am going to try and catch up with your news and hopefully will be visiting your page to read some of your posts do not be alarmed if you see me read a few but it will be nice to catch up!
I have just returned from a wonderful cruise around the Baltics and had the most fantastic time. The weather was very kind to us and the skies were blue throughout the two weeks. It was wonderful. I realised one of my dreams and that was to visit St. Petersburg in Russia. It is a beautiful city so much to see and do but we crammed so much in as we were only there for two days it was amazing. I shall probably do some posts about the places we visited over the next few posts.
So history has been made today with President Donald Trump and President Kim Jung-un meeting in Singapore. I sincerely hope that some kind of agreement can be reached today which will ease the suffering of the people of North Korea.
I have attached a photo of the Palace fountains at Peterhof palace. They are stunningly beautiful. I always find water features somewhat relaxing and intriguing.

@garymarsh6 The fact not to need a Visa is a plus, I know it takes about 1 month to obtain a VISA for Russia. I need to renew my Italian passport, I noticed it has expired.

It was amazing I am still buzzing from all the things I saw there. You do not need a visa when you are only there for two days. I found a tour firm in St Petersburg who were fantastic and half the price of what they were charging on the ship. They organise the visa's for you too.

@garymarsh6 You are always welcome, Gary. By the way, I like your photo. Very beautiful. One day, I would like to visit it and I will remember you that it was you who first showed that place to me.

I did not get to see any of that but I love that image its really beautiful and I love fountains of any kind.
Sound of water can get you to do things like that sometimes yes.
Wonder why it is exactly?
Great to see you have enjoyed your Holidays too.

I do love water fountains I think there is a beautiful one in Barcelona set to music. I bet that is beautiful. I also loved the ones in front of the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas. The fountains are choreographed to music and are spectacular!

@lovinangelsinstead21 I know what you mean. It is like the cobbled streets that used to be everywhere! They got rid of many years ago. Guess what???? They are putting cobbled stones back on the roads again! Hmm Man is so clever!

@garymarsh6 Billy Connolly was talking about the time he met Sean Connery and was asked whether or not the great, but ageing, thespian had given him any advice.
Billy replied that he had given him 2 pieces of advice. Never pass up the offer of a cup of tea and never pass up the opportunity of going for a pee.

That is just one of many fountains in the Peterhof palace. It was stunning. I do hope that your pain is soon relieved too. Thankfully it happened after the holiday and not before!

@garymarsh6 I'm glad your pain was after the holiday. It would have been a huge hindrance during your cruise.
Thank you. I'm hoping it heals quickly. I don't even know what happened to cause it.

It's so hard to capture glistening water @garymarsh6 I've stopped trying as it seems to simply cause bright spots that have no real definition.

I like to look at water views too whether in person or in pictures. I've been around a bit more off and on since I now have a stress fracture from standing wrong when my heal hurts from the ongoing wound.
Currently I have my feet elevated but will get up soon to pay a few bills.

Haha well no not really ! Oh @DianneN it is absolutely stunning. You will stand with your jaw dropping to the floor. The amount of opulence is astounding. I am still buzzing from the visit there. I am so glad my leg happened once we got back I would have been gutted had I not been able to walk around there!

Yes thankfully it happened after rather than before the trip otherwise I would not have been able to walk around those fantastic places. They are vast places. The winter palace for example we perhaps saw around 10% of it. They reckon if you were to look at every single thing in there it would take you 11 years to walk around! Can you imagine that!

I hope that you recover well. Some of my friends went to St. Petersburg around 8 years back for work purpose. They told a lot about a bustling city. So you also visited Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia?
