I have been away from myLot for a long time. I just read some of the new discussions and I am happy to see that many of my old friends are still here. A lot of things have happened since I was here last time. Not good things unfortunately. My father was diagnosed with colon cancer, and he also had lung metastasis and liver metastasis. Chemotherapy helped him survive a little longer, but we knew that there was no cure. He died a couple of days after his last surgery. My mother was there when he died. My brother called me and my husband and I hurried to the hospital (in a different part of our island) but we didn't make it on time. He died 5 minutes before we got there. My brother had to drive much longer and he got there half an hour later than us, but at least my mother was there. He died in February, and the last months have been hard for all of us, but my husband and my friends have been a great support for me. My mother-in-law has been ill as well. She has many health problems. She has been in a lot of pain, and sometimes it got so bad that she had to call an ambulance. She has spent a lot time at the hospital this year, but the doctors weren't able to figure out what was wrong. She has another appointment later this month, and we hope that they will be able to help her this time.

@wolfgirl569 I would feel the same way if I were in your mother's situation. I also hope that my mother will live for many years. It has been a very stressful period for her, but she is a strong person

@Porcospino My mother was 84 and passed in August, my dad was 90 and already on hospice so we expected him to go first, but he lived until October last year. I just think it was breaking my Moms heart too much to see him like that. They are both together and at rest now. Hope you have your mom for a long time yet.

Thank you. My mother is alone now, but fortunately she lives quite close to us, so we are able to visit her often.

It is great that you returned to myLot. It will be my pleasure to participate your discussions. I'm sad for your father's demise after long sufferings. It was bad luck that you could not met him during his last breath. My wife was also a cancer patient. A tumor was developed on her ovary. That was cancerous. In April, 2016 the tumor was removed. She had to go six cycle of chemotherapy. Since then she is okay. I don't know what will be in future.

I am happy to be back on myLot, and I look forward to participating again. It must have been a very scary experience for your wife, you and her family.I am sorry you had to go through that experience. I am happy to hear that she is okay now, and I hope that the cancer isn't going to return. My father also had chemotherapy. It wasn't able to cure his cancer, but it kept it down and he was able to survive a little longer that way.

I hope that we will exchange our views. Yes cancer is a deadly disease. Very few people can survive from this disease. Pray for my wife.

Missing by five minutes is so sad. How old was your father? I pray that god gives you and your family strength to get through this. Doctors these days are really confused, aren't they? Unable to diagnose.
