Look who is sporting a new look. This morning my kid brother took Sydney in the cage, to a pet store for grooming. Sydney has thick fur so my brother and we too, expected just a trim for the pomeranian.
When my brother came back after 2 hours and brought out sydney from his car, I immediately took the cage and told the dog to come out.
To my surprise this was how sydney looked like. A bald pomeranian. Indeed he and his fur parent assume the same looks---bald.
My brother was informed that in 2 weeks time the fur of Sydney will be growing again.
And so we shall wait. Sydney now looks like a chihuahua.

Wow. did they say why they cut him so short like that? it is not good to cut off ALL of a dogs fur.. it is needed to regulate body temperature.. although sometimes because of matting it can not be avoided. I would think that they would have called and notified you

@ridingbet yes, true. but all of those critters can still bite a bald dog. this person if doing this as a rule to all dogs and not asking your permission.. should not be grooming dogs.. they have NO knowledge of dog grooming and are not professional.. what they are doing can be more harmful to a dog. heat stroke and sunburn can be fatal.
It's summer and your dog's thick coat looks like its conserving heat. Should you shave your dog's fur and coat? Here are several reasons why you should and shouldn't shave your dog.

my brother brought Sydney to the pet shop and left him there. when he came back to get the dog, he was surprised too because Sydney was bald. the person who shaved Syd said the fur will grow back and full in 2 weeks time. now, the fur is getting longer.
yes, the fur helps in regulating his body temperature. but another reason told by the one who shaved Syd was, this season is where lice, fleas, and mites can invade the dog.

No. The salon where we have our hair trimmed has 2 shih tzu dogs and these dogs are also shaved bald. When their fur grow back, these become thicker, more curly, and longer.
I hope sydney will be more handsome when his fur grow again.

but Sydney is depressed. because he just sits or lies in the corner, and rarely comes near whoever calls him.

@SiddharthV he is still looking so depressed. maybe if an inch of his fur grows, he will be happier again
