Do you know Zongzi (Chinese tamales)
Next Monday, it will be our traditional festival, named Dragon Boat Festival.
During the festival, we will take 3 days holiday and eat Zongzi, which is a traditional Chinese food.
It is on the fifth day of the fifth month of Chinese Lunar calendar.
Zongzi are wrapped in bamboo or reed leaves and thus resemble as Western tamales. We maily use sticky rice as fillings, it can be several tastes in fillings, sweet ones are made with rice and red beans, sweet ones are made with Chinese dates, salty ones are made with meat or yolk. The filling varies in different regions and families.
Hope the festival come soon, and we will enjoy the food as we were in childhood.
