How do you eat your burger?

Eugene, Oregon

I wrote a while back about Anne eating pizza with a fork and knife then we had burgers for lunch the other day. I realized that she puts her burger together with what she wants on it, then cuts it in half every time. I eat my burgers whole, no matter how big they get. So, I wondered about all of you myLotters. Do you cut your burger or eat it whole, well, I mean, in bites? Now I'm hungry!

I think I already mentioned that we do not put a burger in a bun, we serve it on a plate with vegetables. Of course we use a knife and a fork to eat the burger.

@JamesHxstatic No, I usually do not serve bread with meat, if there is not a sauce there is no need of bread, I serve vegetables and a side salad.

It depends on what is on it, I cut it in half when I eat out because they always pile so much on

Some places do, yes. I leave the napkin around it and plow it whole.

Hi James. If is too big, I have to cut it in half but if my mouth can manage to bite it whole, I do so.

I eat it whole, but I don't overload it with stuff. If I open my mouth 'way wide to take a bite, my dentures come loose!

The largest burger i tried is double quarter pounder. haha that is so huge, it is too much i cannot get my mouth to open as large as the burger so... i had to slice it up and eat after slicing it. i would pick it up with either my fingers or my fork. haha but its so yummy i don't mind getting my hands dirty a bit with cheese and juice.:)

I only cut my burgers if they are terribly messy or causing me a problem. Some burgers if they are overly filled will cause the toppings to fall out all over, same with subs.

OK. If I'm going to do a burger I might as well do it all the way! That means there has to be bacon and melted cheese in there somewhere! I love a bacon cheeseburger. But I also like a burger with sauteed onions and mushrooms and melted Swiss cheese. If there are some extra toppings, I might add them on. But it's not necessary.

That all sounds good except the bacon. I stopped eating it about four years ago.

I hate being a slob in public. I've been known to grab a knife and fork and eat a huge burger with them cause I'd rather cut the burger up then have it and its contents all over my blouse.

@JamesHxstatic When I go to a hamburger place I like here in Jerusalem I cut it in half. It is very huge but I eat it with my hands.

They do get kinda sloppy if they are big ones. There is one place where I cut mine because of that.
