Fun Post: National Flip Flop Day- A Wothwhile Cause

It is always terrific when you can post some happy news, and National Flip Flop Day, celebrated on June 15th, is not only a cool promotion but a worthwhile one too.
It was established in 2007, by Tropical Smoothie Cafe chain, to provide assistance to Camp Sunshine based in Casco, Maine. Customers wearing flip flops on the 15th will receive a Free Jetty Punch Smoothie. Proceeds from donations will be given to the camp.
The camp's mission is focused solely on providing a healthy, happy experience to children with life threatening illnesses and their families, completely free of charge. The program is run year-round. Since the program started in 2007 over $3.7 million has been raised, making National Flip Flop Day a successful fundraiser for Camp Sunshine.
So, put those flip flops on (if the weather allows it), make Jimmy Buffet proud, and celebrate both the beginnings of Summer weather and a good cause. Are you a flip flop wearer?

I bought a few pairs and used to wear them alot outside but then had problems so wear inside now. Thanks DB for letting me know when National Croc day is.

That's is a good question. If I find out I will let you know Hanni, lol. We are having 90 degree weather in NJ this weekend and into Monday. So, my flip flops are flipping out

@dgobucks226 I would not consider sandals a close cousin, well surely not the leather sandals I wear that make your feet safe and comfortable.

I wear them almost everyday and next saturday is 1.00 day flip flops at oldnavy and im excited for that so i can get some good flip flops and i will try to get to walmart too and buy some flip flops that i can use to decorate. I will add things to the cheap flip flops from walmart like ribbon or stones and dress them up to have some cute fancy ones for the summer too. Cheap enough to do that and wear for one summer LOL. If I lived there, I would certainly earn a smoothie. I wear flip flops around 8 months of the year and one of the 3 birthday gifts I gave myself during my holidays was to buy the real Brazilian havaianas for my children and for me.
